Cirque du Soleil La Nouba
Last Updated: November 2005

Cirque Du Soleil's La Nouba show was the highlight of our trip. We had purchased tickets early and with our Disney Visa discount. The level two tickets for two set us back a little over $130.00. What a bargain! We were one seat from the Aisle where the performers parade before and after the show. It was great to get to see their faces and costumes up close. I even made eye contact a few times with performers. There is so much going on on the stage that it is hard to catch everything that is happening. It is a beautiful pageant of costumes, makeup and feats of daring-do. I believe it is a dream of the first character to show up on stage, a housewife or cleaning lady. No dialogue, so I guess you make of it what you will. There is so much humor and playfulness in the show, my face hurt from smiling.
The clowns were superb, I don't normally like clowns. They helped the show to segue from one scene to the next, sort of like your guides. The high wire act was breath taking. There are two guys who do amazing things on bicycles while other characters are doing silly things. The stage goes through many transformations throughout the show. Everything was seamless and the performers flawless. The trampoline act was one that I had never seen and seemed very dangerous. These people are true pros. The favorites of the evening were the four Asian girls, they seemed about five or six years old. They did amazing feats with the Chinese yo-yo's, passing them off, doing flips and amazing the crowd.

The acrobatics were impressive. The music was stirring and the live singers were beautiful. The music is all live and sets the moods for each act. I have never before experienced anything like it and I doubt I ever will. The evening ended with a happy ending to our story (I'll never give anything away, don't want to spoil your surprises) and a standing ovation. The Theater is quite large and it seemed that there was not a bad seat in the house. If you can get any seat for this show, I suggest you take it , sit back and get ready for your jaw to drop a few times in the hour and a half of show time. Our favorite attraction in WDW is La Nouba!

An extraordinary cast of more than 70 international performers creates the spellbinding Cirque du Soleil La Nouba production. La Nouba is staged in a free-standing theater at Downtown Disney West Side at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
In the lobby you can purchase refreshments and get popcorn or sodas in souvenier cups and buckets, they even have some combo deals such as the 2 drinks and 2 popcorns in souvenier buckets and cups for $18.00 plus tax. The store has masks, music, DVD's and all sorts of items to purchase for a memory of your evening. Two thumbs up!
You can make your advanced reservations for Cirque du Soleil La Nouba up to 180 days. This show is very popular so you should plan accordingly.
Editor's Note: I would like to thank Liz Moncado (LizM on the Disney Echo) for volunteering to do this PS Spotlight.
